I love to use pen and paper, It’s a bit old school though isn’t it? Gone are the days where offices are just piles and piles of paperwork but weirdly, it was just organised chaos, any stranger could work in and be like wtf is going on here but if they asked you where the VAT receipt is from 1998 you could find it in about 20 seconds, But it’s not a way to work when you are trying to scale and now everything is online, or so it should be, All in one handy place for you to share folders with clients or your colleagues so business ticks along nicely, You have an online system right? Or are you still in 1998 with the paperwork? Organised or not it is no way to SCALE your business, It might be the way you have always ran it but the term “It’s the way we have always done it” is holding you back, Plus, what about your colleagues ? Your clients ? Your stress levels…..?! Take your sales for example, we used to track all our sales through a sheet of paper, Yep, straight up, each day we would update this piece of paper that had the corner missing where someone needed to write a quick note and there was around 3 coffee mug stains on the back, but it’s what we used to GROW our business, Ridiculous right ?! A piece of paper did that, But it was confusing as hell, After each call we had to tick whether we had got through to them or not and then we made abbreviated notes, in the smallest column known to man so we could keep track of the communication, We had – NA for not answered, VM for voicemail left, CB for call back later, and FO where we were politely told not to call back again But it was insane, There were scribbles EVERYWHERE and no one could make head nor tail of any of it, which meant follows ups got lost and protects slipped right through the net, That’s when we started to make a change with the way we did things because ultimately, every prospect that didn’t get followed up, was literally money down the drain, Not following up with someone who is interested in your business is a no no on every platform, we have GOT to make time for that, and having an easy process and system, makes your life a million times simpler, Are you leaving money on the table? Are you letting warm prospects go cold because you don’t have a clear follow up process? |
